Enfusion returned to Germany with a huge event in Oberhausen. “Enfusion Belt Night” featured three championship fights. Endy “Bad News” Semeleer is the new champion at 75 kg, while young Levi Rigters captured heavyweight gold with an upset win over Martin “Paco” Pacas.
Endy Semeleer (NLD) def. Aziz Kallah (MAR)-Decision (Semeleer Wins Enfusion 75 kg Title)
Young phenom Semeleer won the Enfusion 75 kg title, outboxing defending champion Kallah over five rounds to win the decision. Semeleer used his quickness and movement, and Kallah kept his guard high and applied pressure. Kallah seemed to get frustrated-he dumped Semeleer to the canvas more than once and also hit the young fighter on the break later in the fight. The referee gave Kallah an official warning for throwing Semeleer down. It was a clear win for Semeleer, and it could lead to a big super fight between Semeleer and Tayfun Ozcan next year.
-71 kg: Tayfun Ozcan (TUR) def. Amansio Paraschiv (ROU)-Unanimous Decision (Non-Title Bout)
“Turkish Turbine” Ozcan, the Enfusion 72.5 kg champion, won a unanimous decision against tough Romanian Paraschiv. Ozcan once again showed why he’s considered one of the world’s best fighters: tight defense, quick punches, sharp low kicks. Paraschiv gave a good effort but Ozcan is on a higher level. An accidental clash of heads cut Ozcan over the eye. Ozcan improves to 79-3-8(25). Paraschiv is now 31-1-8(15).
-95 kg: Bogdan Stoica (ROU) def. Levi Kuyken (BEL)-TKO Round 3 (Stoica Wins Enfusion 95 kg Title)
Stoica was too much for the less experienced Kuyken, knocking down the Belgian three times to win the Enfusion title by TKO. The fighters stood in front of each other early, exchanging techniques In round two, Stoica picked up the tempo. Stoica dropped Kuyken twice with knees in round three, and a right hand punch dropped Kuyken for the third time ending the fight. Stoica improves to 52-0-12 (37).
Levi Rigters def. Martin “Paco” Pacas-Decision (Wins Vacant Enfusion Heavyweight Title)
Young Rigters pulled off the upset, winning the Enfusion heavyweight title by close decision against the more experienced Pacas. Rigters built an early lead. He landed some good low kicks and the better punches. Pacas fought off the back foot, but did land some good punches. Rigters fought a smart fight-not over extending with his shots. Pacas picked up his work rate in round four, and also had an edge in the fifth, but Rigters did enough to claim the title. Rigters is now 28-2-2(13). Pacas is 38-0-10(10).
-71 kg: Enriko Kehl (DEU) def. Jordan Watson (GBR)-Unanimous Decision
In a match up between two top level lightweights, Kehl avenged his brother’s loss to Watson, outscoring the British fighter to capture a decision. Watson cut his right shin during the fight, and the doctor examined the cut and allowed the bout to continue. Kehl was the aggressor in a hard-fought, tough bout. Kehl improves to 46-2-14(27). Watson is now 51-0-14(22).
-85 kg: Ulrik Bokeme (COD) def. Selhattin Sahin (TUR)-Unanimous Decision
Sahin had a lot of crowd support,and the 22-year old made a good account of himself in round one. In round two, Bokeme took control of the bout, scoring with knees to the body and other shots. Sahin began to wear down. Bokeme landed some more knees to the body and also some punches in round three, as he continued to dictate the action. Bokeme is now 29-0-1(15). Sahin is now 28-0-6(18).
-HW: Mohamed Abdallah (DEU) def. Andre Schmelling (DEU)-Unanimous Decision
Young prospect Abdallah picked up a decision win over a game Schmelling in the opener. The smaller Shmelling tried to get close to Abdallah early, and Abdallah landed some nice left jab-inside low kick combos. Abdallah’s jab snapped Schmelling’s head back, and some knees to the body led to an eight count. Schmelling was outgunned-Abdallah answered back with harder shots when Schmelling threw. The bout slowed down later, and it was a clear points win for Abdallah. Abdallah improves to 18-0-2(7). Schmelling is now 11-1-6(4).
