DSF Kickboxing Challenge is back! This Saturday in Krakow, they hold their 20th event.
DSF Kickboxing Challenge Heavyweight Champion Tomasz Sarara will defend his crown against Frenchman, Abderahmane Coulibaly. Polish K-1 legend Lukasz Jarosz is facing Wendell Roche in the co-main event.
Tomasz Sarara is considered the best pound-for-pound Polish kickboxer. The fighter from Krakow has not lost in 10 years. Sarara won his title at DSF Kickboxing Challenge 18 in December 2018. He beat defending champion Petr Romankevich of Belarus via fourth-round KO with a brutal head kick in his DSF debut.
Sarara is a former Ernesto Hoost protege, and a Fight Exclusive Night and Celtic Gladiators champion. He defeated Tomas Mozny in May 2018 for the WKN world championship belt. Allegedly, he refused an offer to fight in Glory because the biggest organization in the world did not give him proper time to prepare for the fight.
Coulibaly has fought such names as Dzevad Poturak and Nathan Corbett, but did not reach a elite level. He has not fought since December 2017.
Lukasz Jarosz is a Polish kickboxing veteran. He competed in Polish heavyweight tournaments when K-1 rules came to Poland. He was ISKA world champion, and returned to competition in May 2018, when he stopped Michal Wlazlo at a National Boxing event in Poland. Then, Jarosz signed with DSF Kickboxing Challenge for 3 fights, and this Saturday he is making his debut.
Wendell Roche is a well-known veteran and fought in Poland in May 2018, at the same event with Jarosz and Tomasz Sarara. He beat Igor Kolacin, Polish Muay Thai and Wu Shu veteran, by TKO due to a cut on Kolacin’s head.
The fight card includes a DSF Kickboxing Challenge under 71 kg championship fight. Current champion Jaroslaw Daschke will make his first title defence against WAKO amateur world champion, Adam Gielata. Daschke trains in Champion Gdansk and he is a member of the antiterrorist unit. He beat Rafal Dudek to claim DSF gold, but suffered an injury which forced him to take a break from kickboxing.
Gielata is young fighter who trains in Puncher Wroclaw. He’s unbeaten under the DSF banner, and he’s fought kickboxing stars like Itay Gershon and Mirko Moisar. He won a K-1 tournament in France last year, and was considered as the year’s best Polish kickboxer. Gielata will have a big reach and height advantage, but Daschke is a very intelligent fighter and fights in the southpaw stance.
DSF veteran Piotr Sokol from Krakow is facing Marcin Mazurkiewicz from Nowy Sacz for the inaugural DSF Kickboxing Challenge under 75 kg belt. Sokol won a DSF eliminator tournament when he defeated three opponents in one night, and then beat famous Polish rapper and titled kickboxer, Jerzy ‘Juras’ Wronski. Mazurkiewicz had a year layoff from kickboxing due to work issues but now he is back. He beat 10-time Polish Muay Thai champion, Wojciech Kosowski in his last fight. They met in the past, and the rematch is happening this Saturday.
We also have two DSF HW tournament quarterfinal fights. Thomas Hron is facing Kiril Kornilov in a battle of GLORY veterans, and in the second quarterfinal former DSF Kickboxing Challenge heavyweight title challenger Dawid Zoltaszek faces young Belorussian Zahar Trofimov.
Two Nowy Sacz fighters are scheduled to be a part of the event. Enfusion and Glory veteran, Rafal Dudek is facing Yuri Zakirko. Dudek is a one of the best kickboxers in Polish sport history, and has a chance to avenge protege Marcin Mazurkiewicz’s loss against Zakirko. Tomasz Broton, another fighter trained by Dudek, will face Kamil Sojkowski in the opening match. Here is the full card.
