Contender Wisse Faces Almeida at Collision 2

GLORY middleweight contender Donovan Wisse will face Cesar Almeida of Brazil at the Collision 2 event taking place on 21 December in Arnhem, Netherlands. The Wilnis-Almeida bout was first reported by Dutch website MMA DNA NL.

Suriname’s Wisse is currently second-ranked at middleweight, and enters the bout on a three-fight win streak. Since a split-decision loss to top ranked contender Ertugrul Bayrak last December, Wisse has beaten fellow contender Matej Penaz by TKO, and won decisions over former title challenger Yousri Belgaroui and ex champion Jason Wilnis. The win against Wilnis took place 3 weeks ago at GLORY 70.

If he’s victorious against Almeida, Wisse may be the next title challenger for the winner of the GLORY Middleweight Title bout between champion Alex Pereira and number-one Bayrak, also taking place at GLORY: Collision 2. GLORY Collision 2 is headlined by the long-awaited rematch between Rico Verhoeven and Badr Hari.

Almeida has been a champion in Brazil’s WGP Kickboxing promotion, the same league that produced Alex Pereira and Guto Inocente.

Recently, the Brazilian has been fighting in Russia for the Fair Fight organization. Last month, Almeida defeated former Superkombat Champion Igor Bugaenko by extra-round decision at Fair Fight X to improve his record to 37-7.
