ONE Championship announced the “bout card” for its return to Manila on 12 April.
ONE: Roots of Honor will be headlined by two MMA title bouts.
As part of the ongoing ONE Super Series, there are two kickboxing bouts and two Muay Thai fights scheduled.
Brazilian veteran Anderson “Braddock” Silva makes his ONE Championship debut. Silva, 32, has competed for many of the top promotions in the world, including K-1, GLORY Kickboxing, It’s Showtime, and Superkombat.
Silva most recently competed for GLORY. He made his debut for the organization in 2012, and fought 17 times under the GLORY banner, going 8-9 overall.
He unsuccessfully challenged for the organization’s heavyweight title in 2016, when he lost by stoppage to current champion Rico Verhoeven. His last bout for GLORY was a unanimous decision victory over Brian Douwes in December 2017.
Silva faces Andre Meunier of Australia.
In the other kickboxing bout, former Superkombat star Andrei Stoica makes a quick return to the ONE Super Series. Stoica lost a decision to Tarik Khbabez in his debut earlier this month. He’ll face Ibrahim El Bouni
El Bouni won his Super Series debut with an impressive first-round stoppage of Meunier last July. He wasn’t as fortunate in his second bout, when he lost by third-round TKO to Khbabez.
The two Muay Thai bouts feature Saemapetch Fairtex taking on Ognjen Topic and Momotaro battling Lerdsila. The Thai-rules fights are both part of the prelims.
