Bellator Kickboxing 12: Main Event Announced

Canadian Gabriel Varga will defend his Bellator Kickboxing Featherweight Championship against Cristian Faustino of Italy in the main event of the Bellator Kickboxing 12 card taking place on 12 October in Milan, Italy. The Bellator organization announced the fight on social media.

Varga (17-6, 4 KOs) will be making the second defense of the title he won last summer from Kevin Ross. Varga defeated the American by first-round KO, then followed with another one-round stoppage against Shan Cangelosi of Italy to retain the belt.

Last month, the 34-year-old debuted in mixed martial arts with a TKO win over Jamese Taylor at Bellator 224 in Oklahoma.

Faustino (48-18) is a veteran fighting out of the city of Bologna. He’s recently competed under Muay Thai rules for the Yokkao promotion. Last month he faced UK legend Liam Harrison at Yokkao 41, where he lost via TKO after four rounds.

The co-main event for Bellator Kickboxing 12 is the previously announced catchweight (158 lbs/71.8 kg) bout between Chingiz Allazov and Sudsakorn.

In addition to the Varga-Faustino title bout, another featherweight match up was also announced.  Emerson Bonat (21-9) faces Kebrom Neguse (33-2-2) in a match up of two Italy-based fighters.

Bellator Kickboxing 12 will be streamed live on the Bellator App starting at 11 a.m. EST on 12 October.
