Samy Sana will not be fighting on the Arena Fight card taking place on 8 June in France. The organization released the news this weekend.
Sana, a French muay thai champion, is currently competing in the ONE Kickboxing Featherweight Grand Prix. He defeated Yodsanklai IWE Fairtex by decision on 17 May in Singapore to advance to the semifinals. Sana’s win was huge for his career. Not only did he defeat a Thai legend, but he has a chance at big prize money in the tournament.
Youssef Boughanem has stepped in for Sana. The Belgium-based fighter made history last year when he became the first non-Thai to hold the Lumpinee and Rajadamnern Stadium titles simultaneously.
He’ll face Wilson Varela of France in a five-round title fight to be contested under K-1 rules.
