K-1 champion Chingiz Allazov officially vacated his -70 kg title Tuesday.
The fighter recently signed a contract with Bellator Kickboxing after he challenged for the Bellator lightweight belt last summer. Allazov acquitted himself well but lost a unanimous decision to Italian legend Giorgio Petrosyan in a contest for the vacant championship.
Allazov won an eight-man tournament to earn the K-1 title in 2017. He successfully defended the title by second round knockout against Japanese veteran Hinata Watanbe last year.
Considered one of the world’s best in the 70 kg category, Allazov fights out the Gridin Gym in Minsk, Belarus.
