It’s no secret to kickboxing fans that Chingiz Allazov is one of the top fighters in the world. Representing Belarus but of Azerbaijani descent, Allazov has been a force in the lightweight division (70 kg) for a number of years. In 2017, Allazov won the K-1 World GP -70 kg Tournament champion with victories over veteran Yasuhiro Kido, Jordan Pikeur of the Netherlands, and Hiroki Nakajima. He successfully defended his title with a stoppage win over Hinata at last year’s K’Festa.1. The 25-year-old challenged for the vacant Bellator Kickboxing Lightweight Title during the summer, but lost a decision to legend Giorgio Petrosyan.
It looks like Allazov will continue to compete for Bellator. Today, the promotion welcomed the young fighter to “the Bellator Family”.
It will be interesting to see who the promotion matches the talented Allazov with next. The fighter has competed in both the 70 kg and 72.5 kg weight categories.
