ACB Kickboxing is making a name for itself. Over the past couple of years, the promotion held events in Belgium, China, France, the Netherlands, and Russia, as well as in the United States. Talented fighters such as Chingiz Allazov, Igor Bugaenko, Dzhabar Askerov, and Jamal Ben Saddik have all competed in ACB promotions, and ACB KB already announced 3 events in 3 months in the first part of 2018.
The promotion is affiliated with the Absolute Championship Berkut MMA promotion. ACB MMA is a leading MMA promotion in Russia, and like ACB KB held events all over the world. Mairbek Khasiev, the company’s owner, is a big fight fan and also owns FC Berkut, a martial arts gym.
Last year, ACB KB streamed events live and free on YouTube. While many promoters have gone the pay per view route, ACB KB has kept their content fee of charge. It’s a smart way for the promotion to introduce itself to kickboxing fans throughout the world and grow the brand. While internet pay per view is an attractive revenue stream for promoters, it’s also a double-edged sword as some fans will pay less attention to their events or even attempt to pirate the event.
Another way the company connects with fans is through the excellent documentary series “The Kitchen”. The series takes the viewer behind the scenes at various ACB events, so fans can get a behind the scenes look at what goes on at events with fighters, promoters, and others.
Recently, ACB KB uploaded the fourth installment of “The Kitchen” series. This episode takes us behind the scenes as fighters such as Perviz Abdullayev, Lofogo Sarour, and others experience visiting and fighting in America for the first time. The video is around 43 minutes long and definitely worth a look for those who like documentary style coverage.
